Windows or No Windows?

When it comes to garage doors, the world of design is wide open. You can get them in so many different colors and styles that most people don’t stop to think about the other options! One of those other options is window paneling across the door.

Windows can add both style and function to your door. For example, if you have a solid-color design, a row of windows can add visual interest. This is doubly true if the solid color chosen is a lighter color, with dark windows. It may even increase the property value which is no bad thing, even if you’re not a homeowner looking to sell. As for function, it’s obvious!

It may seem like a security concern, but it’s not. Someone who wanted to look into your garage from the outside would have to come straight up to the garage door, rather than being able to see into it from the street. Garage door windows are made of thick glass too, because they have to be able to cope with being rolled up and down, so they won’t break as easily as you might think. However, they may require more care than a solid, non-window garage door. If the windows do get damaged somehow, the entire garage door will need to be looked at, because it won’t be safe to move up and down.

If you’re after a different design than just color or material, then do consider getting windows put into your garage door! There are so many options out there in the world of garage doors, and Garage Door Doctors can help you through all of them.
